All's well

Mum's fine. She arrived back home this afternoon, after the doctors gave her a clean bill of health and small array of pills to take on a daily basis. She was basically told to carry on as normal and seems quite content with the situation now. She also doesn't seem to be giving any more tours of her valuables, much to my relief.

All's well, everyone's fine, if a little stressed and life carries on as normal. Now if you'll excuse me, she's being a little quiet through in the living room and I'll just pop through and check up on her...

Glad to hear your mum's doing OK. While I've met very few Endzians' family members, I sortof think of them as distant-extended family members... You know, like the second cousins you've never met but hear about every now and then :-)

If it's any consolation, the whole attitude thing is, I think, less specific to your family and more of a cultural thing. It's just a rather wacky lack of worry when it comes to personal wellbeing that I recall seeing a lot of in Scotland.

"Whit happened tae yer legs!?"

"Och nuthin' much. I just fell oot ma bedroom windae last week when I wiz trying tae clean it. But I only fell twa floors, an' I landed on the car. I broke a few bones in each leg. Nae bother."

And parent's are intolerable. Take my folks for example... During a bi-weekly phone call home some time ago:

"...Oh, and your dad's surgery went with no problems."

"Surgery?"

[insert conversation and much beratement here]

"...Did I tell you about my follow-up?"

"Follow-up to /what/?"

etc.

Anyways, our best to your mum from the States.

Reading Kevin's comment, maybe it's a Scottish thing, is it? Only reading that, it reminds me of my Nana's attitude to things. Which is probably where my Mum gets it from!

As for your Mum, Mark, glad to hear it's okay, as okay can be, even if it involves large quantities of adult-proof bottles.
