Metablogging
It crossed my mind that in my last entry, and probably several other entries over the past few weeks I've basically been blogging about blogging. And whilst this might be fascinating for me (debatable), it's probably of very limited interest to those of you who are not me (and if you choose to press the point I'll be reluctantly forced to admit that people who are not me constitute the majority).
Anyway, I'll endeavour to restrict my meanderings to more relevent forms of whimsy in future.
Wait. I'm at it again aren't I? Darn.

It's a phase I think we all go through. It starts with noticing that the mere possibility of there being an audience totally changes the dynamic of keeping a journal. That in itself is quite interesting, and it seems most people who are moved to start blogging notice it, and are hence moved to comment on it. At which point, one is metablogging.
While it's doubtless tedious to the non-bloggers out there, it's still interesting to the cult of blog members. The key is to break out of it again and to get back to contributing original content. There are already too many links to not enough original content.
Easier said than done.
